Hello everyone. What was your craft projects of last weekend’s crafternoon hours ? I am sure there are plenty of many beautiful things. Pls share photos with me and I will share it from my blog with its link and/or your name . I have prepared two cuties from paper. First one is door ornament from paper and second one is little party tennants. I hope you like them.

 

 

 Mutfak kapım için hazırladığım mini dekor çok sevimli ve biraz da kokoş oldu. Üzerinde mutfak malzemeleri deseninin bulunduğu bir kağıdı fon olarak seçtim. Üzerini etiket, pembe dantel, ponpon bordür yardımı ile süsledim. Çok sevimli oldu. / For the mini deko that I prepared for my kitchen door, I selected a kitchenware patterned paper and adorned it with stickers and laces together with ponpons.

 

 

 Ve bunlar da mini parti flamalarım. Mini davetler için ideal. Bunları kızımın mini waffle partisi dekorasyonunda kullanacağım / These are little party tennants. Ideal for decoration of mini parties. I will use this for my daughter's little waffle party.

 

 Bu kağıtların desenlerine bayılıyorum. / I love the patterns of these papers.

Nostaljik kartpostallar / Nostalgic postcards

Herkese merhaba ! Şunlara bakın... En az 100 yıllık orjinal kartpostalların mini kopyaları. Çok şirinler değil mi ? Hepsinin arka yüzünde gönderen kişinin orjinal el yazısı korunmuş.(Bir başkaymış o zamanların aşkları:))  Bunlar, craft çalışmalara çok farklı ve nostaljik bir hava katıyorlar.  Şu anda dizgi ve tasarım aşaması devam eden, ana malzemesi kağıt olan mini el yapımı projeler içeren kitabımdan daha önceki yazılarımda bahsetmiştim. Kitabımdaki bazı çalışmaların dekorasyonunda bu kartpostallardan da kullandım. Çok yakında kitabım hakkında yeni bir yazı ile sizleri bilgilendireceğim. Bu konuda çok heyecanlıyım. Şimdilik size sevgi dolu bir hafta sonu diliyorum !

Hello everyone ! Look at these... Little copies of original postcards of at least 100 years of age... They are so cute, aren't they ? All of them includes original handwriting of the sender at their back side. (Love at that time was different :)) They bring a nostalgic look to my craft projects. As you may remember, I have informed you about my book-to-be. This book will be a compilation of my handcraft projects which 'paper' plays the essential role as the main material in all of the projects presented. My book is in design process now. In some of the craft projects, I used these little post cards for decoration. Soon, I will bring you some news about my book-to-be. I am very excited about it. For now, I wish you a nice weekend full of love !

 



 

Defter eski, kapak yeni / Old notebook, new cover

Keyifli cumartesiler herkese. Bugün kapağını beğenmediğim bir defteri desenli bantlar yardımı ile bambaşka bir forma dönüştürdüm. Hem yapması keyifli oldu, hem de sonuç :)

Adımlar şöyle:
1-Lacivert kapaklı defteri önce beyaz kağıtla kapladım, böylece koyu rengin pastel tonlu bantların altından belli olmasını engellemiş oldum.
2-Ön yüzü diagonal bir şekilde sıra sıra bantla kapladım.
3-Ön yüzün tamamını bantla kapattım.
4-Aynı işlemi arka yüz için de tekrar ettim.
5-Arka yüzün de tamamını bantlarla kapatınca defter hazır hale geldi.
6-Minik bir etiketle defterim tamam oldu :)

Happy saturdays everyone. Today, I have changed a pre-loved cover of a notebook with the help of paper tapes. It was fun to make this and I think result is not bad :)

Here are the steps:
1-Firstly, I have wrapped dark blue cover of the notebook with plain white paper. The reason for this is to prevent the shadow of dark blue through my pastel coloured paper tapes.
2-I have covered the front cover diagonally.
3-I have finished covering the front cover.
4-I repeated the same procedure for back cover.
5-When I finished covering back cover, I had my new notebook ready.
6-I have added a little name tag to complete it.

Artık deftere para vermek yok / No more notebook costs

Osmanlı’da vakanüvislik denilen bir meslek varmış. Bu adamlar herşeyi not ederlermiş, biz bugün Osmanlıca bilmediğimiz için okuyamasakta bu meslek grubu tüm devlet arşivini tutmuş. Nedir bu girişin sebebi diyeceksiniz; sebep benim. Ben de aynı bu vakanüvisler gibiyim işte. Kaç sene olduğunu bilmediğim kadar uzun bir zamandır günlük rutinin dışındaki her şeyin notunu tuttuğum defterlerim için artık ayrı bir dolap ayırmak zorunda kaldım. Duygular, düşünceler, tatlar, kokular, mutlu anlar, özel olaylar, gizli konular :)... Hemen her şeyi bu defterlere mühürlüyorum. 9 sene önce Bakü’de veya Prag’da şişe suya ne kadar ödediğimi bile o defterlerden bakıp bulabilirim. Delilik ayarında bir durum bu ama çok keyif alıyorum bu işten.  O kadar güzel oluyor ki. Rastgele bir defter seçip, rastgele bir sayfa açıp bir yerden okumaya başlamak farklı bir duygu yaşatıyor insana.  İnsanın böyle bir alışkanlığı olunca defterler iyice maliyet olup çıkıyor. Ben de buna bir çözüm buldum ve kendime defter yaptım. Artık notlarımı kendi yaptığım defterlere tutacağım J Bundan sonra hazır defter yok !

Once, there was an occupation called ‘vakanüvis’ in Ottoman Empire. Those people kept all the royal record. Although we can not read them now (because the alphabet was different at that time) all the archieve was being kept by those people. And I am like those people. I keep taking notes about all of my life. I can not remember the time when I started writing but it has been for years and years now. Thoughts, feelings, tastes, smells, happy moments, special events, private things… I lock everything into these notebooks by writing them. If you ask me how much I paid to a bottle of water in Baqu or Prag, 9 years ago; I can find it from these records of mine. It is crazy but it is lovely. Selecting a notebook and reading it randomely is a very relaxing and enjoyable thing at a spare night. When someone has such a habbit, then the cost of notebooks are high of course. Now I have a solution and I prepared my own notebook. I will keep my records in my own self-made notebooks from now on J No more fabrication notebooks !

Kalpten zarflar / Heart envelopes

Bu çalışmayı webde görmüşsünüzdür, sayısız kere birçok sitede yayınlandı. Fikir gerçekten çok pratik ve akıllıca. Benim kitabımda da 'günlük hayatta kağıt' bölümünde zarf yapımına yönelik oldukça pratik ve uygulaması kolay bir öneri var ama bunu da denemekten kendimizi alamadık ve dün kolları sıvadık. Elde ettiğimiz sonuç güzel ve bize özgü oldu. Bakalım siz de beğenecek misiniz.

You have probably seen this idea on the web. It is very clever and practical. In my book, there is also another way of  'how-to-do' for a self made envelope, but we wanted to try this one as well. The outcome is nice and reflects my style of paper decoration. I hope you like it, too.

Biraz desenli bant ve etiket yardımı ile süsledik / We decorated it with paper tape and stickers

 

Ve içine kartımızı yerleştirdik / And we placed our compliment card inside.

Hızımızı alamayınca bir tane daha yaptık / And we did one more

Kapağın ucunu motifli delgeç ile şekillendirdik / We have decorated the end of the cover with an assorted punch

Üçüncü örneğimizde biraz daha fazla desenli bant ve damga kullandık / In the third one, we used more washi tape and stamp.

Derken aklımıza başka bir fikir geldi ve zarflarımızdan birinin sol ve sağ üst köşelerini delgeç yardımı ile delerek zımba yerleştirdik ve aşağıdaki gibi asmak için ip bağladık. / And we had another idea of punching left and right hand corners of the envelope, placed eyelet pins and used a piece of thread in order to hang it as below.

İleride kitabımın tanıtımı için yaptığım ürünlerden ufak bir sergi açmayı planlıyorum. Bu askı aparatı, asmak için iyi bir yöntem oldu, planladığım sergide de birçok malzemeyi bu şekilde sergileyebilirim / In the couple of months, when my book become published, I would like to have a small exhibition of what I have done so far. This hanging mechanism would be a helpfull tool during that little exhibition.

 

Blogum 2 aylık / My blog is 2 months old

Herkese merhaba,

Kağıttan hayallerimi ve kitabımla ilgili yaşadığım süreci paylaşmak üzere oluşturduğum blogum bugün 2. ayını dolduruyor. Geçtiğimiz iki ayın istatistiklerine bakınca, henüz çok yeni bir blog olmasına rağmen şaşırtıcı derecede iyi bir okunma derecesi yakaladığını görüyorum ve bunu paylaşmak istedim. Geçtiğimiz iki ay içinde blogum 2.242 kere ziyaret edildi ve 4.600 kere sayfa görüntülenmesi gerçekleşti. Günde 10 kişi ziyaret ettiği de oldu, 350 kişi de. En büyük ziyaretçi grubu tabiki Türkiye'den. Türkiye'nin ardından Amerika, şaşırtıcı evet ama Macaristan, onun da ardından İngiltere geliyor. Bunların dışında listemizde kimler yok ki; Arjantin, Ukrayna, Venezuela ve Çek Cumhuriyeti dahil 13 ülkeye bir şekilde ulaşabildiğimi görmek mutluluk verici. Bundan sonra da artan bir hızla yayılmaya devam etmesi için çalışmaya devam edeceğim ve sizlerin de katkısını bekliyorum :) Sevgiler herkese.

Hello everyone,

My blog is 2 months old now. When I look at to the statistics of last two months, I see that the rate of reach is promisingly high for such a new blog. It has been visited 2.242 times and pages visualised 4.600 times. Some days there were only 10 visitors, some days 350. Main visitors are from Turkey as you can imagine. It is followed by USA, then Hungary (surprising but yes) and UK. There were some visitors from 13 countries including Venezuela, Argentina and Ukraina. I will work to have even a better coverage in the following days. I look forward to see your support as well :) Love love...

İlk Martha Stewart'ım / My first Martha Stewart

Bir crafterın kurduğu birkaç hayal vardır. İlk ikisi dünyadaki tüm washi tape'lere ve güzel bir çalışma odasına sahip olmak ve üçüncüsü ise bir kitap çıkarmaktır :) Ben bu listeye bir de üretilmiş tüm Martha Stewart punch'lara (sofistike desenlere sahip delgeçler) sahip olmayı eklemek istiyorum. Bunlar mucizevi aletler. Zaten Martha Stewart bu işin duayeni ve kurduğu şirketi getirdiği seviyeye hayran olmamak elde değil. Bu ürünlerin tek kusurları birer servet değerinde olmaları :( Bu fotoğrafta yine bir yurt dışı seyahatimde satın aldığım ilk Martha Stewart punch'ımı görüyorsunuz, her akşam çok güzel şeyler ortaya çıkarıyoruz onunla.

There are a few dreams that crafters dream about. First two dreams are purchasing all the washi tapes in the world and having a large crafting room in the house. The third one is of course to write a book :) I would add a fourth wish to that list; to be able to purchase all Martha Stewart punches. These are magical tools. I admire her and the level that she elevated her business.  Only problem with these punches is their prices :) Here in this photo, you see my first Martha Stewart that I bought during one of my trips. Every night, I produce lovely pieces with it.

Kitabım – Bölüm 3 / My book – Chapter 3

 

Güzel haberlerle karşınızdayım J Kitap üzerinde bol çalışma ile geçen bir hafta ve hafta sonunun ardından, son fotoğraf dekupaj işlemleri ve metin kısmı bitti. Tasarım ve dizgi konusunda ne istediğime ve nasıl olması gerektiğine karar verdim. Kapak tasarımını oluşturdum. Yarından itibaren iç sayfa dizgi ve tasarımına başlıyoruz ! Sonuca yaklaştıkça heyecanım artıyor. Bundan sonrası kitap için hazırlanan tüm içeriğin ilgi çekici ve albenili bir sunum ile bir araya getirilmesi olacak. Malum, sunum önemli. Ben de dizayner ile birlikte mümkün olan en güzel sunumu oluşturmaya çalışacağım. İşin bu kısmı da çok eğlenceli olacak. Sıfırdan bir şey oluşturmak, onu önce kendi beğenine göre vücuda getirmek ve sonra bir kitlenin beğenisine sunmak çok heyecanlı bir iş. Hayaller ve hedefler insana enerji ve yaşama sevinci veriyor. Bu proje tamamlandığında çok büyük bir tatmin ve mutluluk duyacağım. Kitabın dizgisi tamamlandıktan sonra sıra yayınevi bulmaya ve tanıtımı için çalışmalara gelecek ki, o süreçte eğlenceli sürprizlerim olabilir J

 

Kitabım üç bölümden oluşuyor; günlük yaşam alanlarında kağıt, hediye paketleme önerileri ve parti dekorasyonu fikirleri. Herkesin kendine göre fikirler bulacağı kitapta birbirinden farklı ve yaratıcı öneriler var. Önümüzdeki günlerde kitapta yer alan projelerden birkaçını paylaşmayı düşünüyorum.

I have news for you. After having a busy week and week-end, we have finished the decoupage process (of the photographs) and the content. I have completed the cover design and decided the general concept about design of the inside pages. As of tomorrow, we are starting the design of the inside pages. The more we progress, the more excited I am getting. After this, our aim is to make a charming and attractive design. Obviously, design is very important. Myself, together with the designer, will try to built the best design for the book. This part will be very enjoyable, too. Building something from zero and bring it to the attention of an audience is a very nice experiment and a very exciting process. Dreams and the never ending new targets give ‘joi de vivre’ and energy to a person. After I have my book in my hands, I will feel a big satisfaction and happiness. After we finish the design, next topic will be to find a publisher and marketing activities.

There are three parts in my book; paper in daily life, gift wrapping and party decoration. The book is full of creative ideas of which everyone can pick one.In next couple of days, I am planning to share some of the projects in the book.

Göz alıcı desenler / Eye catching patterns

 

Son bir yıldır yaptığım yurt dışı seyahatlerimde minik fırsatlar yaratıp craft hobim için malzeme topluyorum. En son Londra'dan epey yüklü bir craft alışverişi yaptım. Aslında bu alışverişi detayları ile yazacağım yakın zamanda. Bu 'Tea party' kağıt grubu da onlardan birisi. Şu renklere ve desenlere bakar mısınız ! Hepsi birbirinden sevimli ve yeni craft projeleri için beni bekliyorlar :)

I keep collecting creative craft materials during my travels in last one year. Lately, I did a lot of craft shopping during my last visit to London. I will write the details of this shopping soon. This 'Tea party' paper set is one of the purchased items. Look at these colours and patterns ! All of them are very cute and they wait to be the materials of my next craft projects :)

Şimdiye kadar birçok hobim, uğraşım, zevk aldığım ufak oyalanmalıklar, keyif veren minik aktivitelerim oldu ama hiçbirine kendimi bu kadar kaptırmamıştım. Bunu tarif etmek çok zor. Akşam olsun da kağıtlarımın ve malzemelerimin başına oturayım der mi insan ? Diyormuş :) Bu ilgi ve ihtiyaç zaman içinde azalır diye düşünürken tam tersine artıyor. Kağıtla ilgili bir kitap yazmaya soyunmuş bir insanın masasının günlük hali neye benzer diye merak edenleriniz varsa; işte buna :)

I have always had hobbies and free time activities that I enjoy but I was never caught by one of them that much. It is hard to describe. I was thinking that my interest and need for crafting will decline by the time but my case is just the opposite ! It is increasing every day. Can you think of anyone dreaming of meeting up craft materials at the end of the day ? That's me :) If you ever wonder what the table of a crafter looks like, here is the answer :)

İkea'dan aldığımız düz beyaz yıldız peçeteliği çeşitli desenli bantlar / washi tape'ler ile dekore ettik. Yeni görünümü yukardaki gibi oldu.

Today, we are going to go the birthday party of one my daughter's close friends, Alya. We have prepared our own gift cards. I prepared for Alya's mother and Defne prepared for Alya :) I hope they like them.

Sıradan ve birbirine benzer şeylerle arası bozuk olan tek ben miyim bilmiyorum ama bugün çok orjinal bir yer keşfettim. Şişli Trump Towers normalde sadece iş yemekleri veya yemekli toplantılar için tercih ettiğim bir yerdi. Bugün de Capital Dergisi ile röportajımız için otoparktan yukarı çıkarken çok özel, minik ve çok sevimli bir cupcake butiği keşfettim. Şimdi Trumph'a daha sık gitmek için yeni bir nedenim var.

I do not know if it is only me who is bored of 'sameness' and 'repetition' but today, I have discovered a cafe which is just the opposite. Trumph Towers Shopping Mall in Şişli is a place which I visit only for obligatory reasons; business dinners or formal meetings. Today, I was there again for a business meeting and I discovered a very unique, cosy place which is a cupcake boutique. Now I have a new reason to go there with non-obligatorys reasons as well.

 

Kurucusunun Şirin Uzdiyen Sayın isimli genç bir bayan olduğunu öğrendiğim (ve hatta kendisiyle de tanıştığım) bu mini cafe hemen ilk bakışta aşkla sarfedilmiş bir emeğin ürünü olduğu izlenimi veriyor. Duvardaki gazete küpüründe Şirin Hn'ın borsacı olduğunu, o işi bırakıp çok istediği bu işi denemeye giriştiği yazıyor. Hayallerinin peşinden giden insanları takdir etmemek mümkün değil.

The founder Şirin Uzdiyen Sayın is a young lady who left her previous job as a broker and followed her dream job of cupcake business. It is impossible to adore that kind of enterpreneur people who have courage to follow their dreams.
